ok...world cup finals is ITALY versus FRANCE....well..at least i predicted one correctly..HOWEVER..i still do not support any of them. i support the ball.
all signs points to FRANCE winning this without too much effort..however...ITALY managed to win GERMANY.
ITALY'S ROAD TO FINAL...
topped their group with a win over GHANA, CZECH REPUBLIC, and a draw against USA.
in the round of 16, they had to depend on what they were best at..diving..to get a 82nd minute penalty to just slightly edge out AUSTRALIA..
in the quarter finals, they found some form, with luca toni finally breacking his scoring duct to lead ITALY'S 3-0 romp of UKRAINE...
in the semis, they some how managed to score 2 goals right at the death of extra time to prevent germany from winning at their forte..penalty kicks.
FRANCE'S ROAD TO FINAL
in group stages....they only JUST qualified..with a draw against SOUTH KOREA, an win over ANGOLA and a draw against their other team.
in the round of 16, they some how found form in a 3-1 victory over under-achievers but extremely strong SPAIN.
in the quaters... they defeated all odds to dethrone 2002 champions, BRAZIL in a ZIDANE inspired performance
in the semis... they had to depend on a zidane penalty to see them through..
FRANCE hit form at the right time..ITALY are just plain lucky...
so will hunger for 1 last trophy over come sheer dumb luck?
